It was so nice to meet so many of you at Parent Orientation last week. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to come meet with us. We view our partnership with you as a very important part of your child's success this year. Thank you in advance for working with us!
Thank you to the parents who came in last minute on Monday to lend a hand with the eclipse viewing. Such an exciting event and hearing the "awww...wow!" from the kids was priceless! I think all will remember where they were August 21, 2017 -- that is until the next eclipse in 2024 when we will be closer to the path of totality.
School Fees
Please note that school fees are due by September 8th and are $77for the 2017-2018 school year. Checks should be made payable to KINGS LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT.
Music Notes

4th grade is the year of the recorder! All 4th grade students will be learning to play recorder this year. Recorders are $6 and money is due to Mrs. Sherby by September 18th. Money may be sent in any day (do not have to wait until a day your student has music) and it will be sent to Mrs. Sherby.
Please check out all the important music dates found on our "Important Dates" tab at the top of this page.
So far students are doing a great job remembering which day they have which special. It is important to remember gym shoes on phys. ed. days and for library books to be brought to school on library days. Unsure of which color day it is? Check your child's planner to confirm which day is which color. We hope to have a full year calendar to you soon.
MAP Testing
MAP Testing

This year, fourth grade will have 3 conference nights in fall. We have added an additional night to accommodate all parents so that parents may meet with their child's instructional team, rather than just one teacher. While conference info will not be coming home for a while, we wanted to make you aware of this change. Conference dates for SLE fourth grade will be:
Thursday, October 19
Tuesday, October 24
Thursday, October 26
THANK YOU!!
Thank you for following the new snack policy. Students have enjoyed their healthy snacks this past week to help get through the long morning.
